Roller Skate to Samba, Pagode, MPB, Music from Indigenous Brazilian Tribes, and other Brazilian genres remixed by DJ Juno.
Participants must:
(1) Bring their own roller skates and roller skating gear.
(2) Sign a waiver to participate.

Dr. Denise M. Osborne
Senior Lecturer in Portuguese at Cornell University. Her areas of interesse include the acquisition of speech sounds by learners of Portuguese as a foreign language. She is also interested in pedagogical applications, such as ways to promote the potentialization of students’ experiences with Portuguese, both on and off campus.

Deixa Sambar began over 10 years ago as a small group of individuals interested in playing Brazilian music. Deixa Sambar performs several styles of samba, Brazil’s national music. Our mission is to become increasingly proficient and musical in our interpretation of Brazilian music, while conveying the fun and togetherness we feel when playing for our audiences! Professor Carcaju
Carcaju (he/him) grew up in Central New York and began taking capoeira classes in 2003 under Gorila, a student of Mestre Ombrinho and Capoeira Angola Quintal (CAQ). He was drawn to capoeira by the music and the effortless movements through which its practitioners could learn to defend themselves.

A ‘23 graduate from the School of Visual Arts BFA program, Natália Oliani uses painting, sculpture, and mixed media as a means of communication that opens up a dialogue between herself, the subjects of her pieces, and audiences experiencing her art.

Originally from Syracuse, NY and the Alsace region of France, her taste in music is a blend of many different cultural influences. Stephanie Monteiro was raised in Marlborough, MA by two native Brazilian parents from Minas Gerais. She graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s in Music with an Outside Field in Journalism. Monteiro was accepted in Temple University’s Vocal Arts Master’s program for Fall 2024. She played Azema in Ithaca College’s Opera Studio Program in June 2023.
